Samsung HMX-W300 Troubleshooting

"Repeatedly pressing the power button does not turn device on."

Your device may have an uncharged battery. The indicator on the front of the device should glow green when the battery is fully charged. If the green light on the bottom right of device is not on, plug device into a computer's USB port to fully charge.

The HMX-W300 contains a small sized lithium-ion battery. Battery capacity decreases over time and through repeated use. If you have noticed decreased usage time between charges, it is time to replace the battery. "When plugged into a computer's USB port, charging indicator does not light."

Check to make sure the device is off. The camcorder will not charge unless it's powered off. If device is off and properly plugged into an computer's USB port, the charge light should illuminate. "Video/pictures look out of focus."

If the picture is out of focus or blurry, then check the outer glass lens for smears and stains. If there are smears or stains, then clean the outer glass lens. The HMX-W300 is not equipped with a user adjustable focus. If your images look blurry or out of focus it may be because your subject is inside the

20cm minimum focal length of the camera. Make sure the distance between the device and the subject is outside the minimum 20cm.

"Unable to find videos or photos in the camera"

Check to make sure the micro SD card is properly installed. See device guide on how to remove and replace SD card.

See guide on how to remove SD card. After the SD card is removed install card into another device to make sure it works. If card does not work in another device then SD card is faulty. If card works in another device then SD slot may be dirty. Use small brush and alcohol to clean inside of SD slot. "Device may not turn on, the screen is frozen, or performs erratically."

If no damage is found, check the seals on the USB port door or the SD card/HDMI door for debris or damage. If the camcorder's seals are faulty, then see the guide on how to replace the front and rear case. If there is debris, then use Q-tips with alcohol to clean seals.

"Display has been shattered or cracked making the images hard to see."
