Buttons not responding
Buttons are not responding when pushed or getting stuck.
Faulty Buttons
The buttons on the device may be broken. You can order button parts from Retroid’s website, and follow this guide to replace the buttons.
Dirty Buttons
Try cleaning the device, there may be dirt under the buttons causing a connection failure. First, test all of your buttons to see which ones are not responsive. Then, clean them with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. Another method of cleaning can be using an air canister to blow any possible dirt that may be stuck under the buttons.

Dirty Buttons
If the trigger buttons are sticking or are hard to push, they may be dirty. You can try to clean the buttons from the outside with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. Open up the device and clean out the trigger button housings. If the buttons continue to stick, you may need to replace them. You can order parts from Retroid’s website and follow this guide to replace the trigger buttons.
Trigger Buttons Not Responding
If the trigger buttons are not responding, it may be an issue with the PCBs that the triggers sit on. You can order replacement parts from Retroid’s website and follow this guide to replace the PCBs.
Device Not Turning On
Device is not powering on or responding when holding the power button.
Display not turning on
When powering on the device nothing is being displayed on the screen. Plug the device into a charger to ensure the unit has power to turn on. If that does not work then you can order a replacement screen from Retroid’s website and follow this guide to replace it.
Charging port dirty
There can be dirt in the charging port causing the charger prongs to not make a proper connection with your device. To clean it out in the safest way without damaging any prongs in the port is to use an air canaster. If that method doesn't seem to work, you can try using a soft non metallic pick to extract any dirt in the port (this method is more prone to cause damage so work gently). If none of these methods work, you may have a port issue, follow this guide on how to replace the port.
No Image On Screen
There is nothing on the screen, device starts up but has no display.
Blank Screen
When turning on the device the screen will only show the device name/logo with a black background. This could be a power issue and may need to be charged for a longer time. If the device is still not displaying an image after charging, you may need to replace the screen. You can order a new screen from Retroid's website and follow this guide to replace it.
Battery Not Charging
Device is plugged into charger and does not charge the battery after having it connected for a period of time.
Bad Charger
Ensure the adapter is plugged into a known good power source. The power adapter used to charge the device might be faulty and not letting the device charge.
Battery is damaged
The battery may not be getting any charge when plugged in, make sure that the charger for the device is working and plugged into a good power source. The battery may have to be replaced if your power sources are in good shape. You can order a new battery from Retroid's website and follow this guide to replace the battery.
USB-C Port Not Working
Nothing happens when connecting USB cable to device
Damaged USB Connection
The USB-C charging port may be damaged and not making proper connections. The port may simply be damaged or dirty. You can learn how to fix the USB-C charging port here.
Loose Battery Connection
The device may have a faulty battery connection, causing the buttons to not function properly. One solution to this problem is by unplugging the battery from the device, holding the power button down for 30 seconds while the battery is disconnected, then reattaching the battery and powering on the unit.
Loose Ribbon Connection
The ribbon cables on the sides of the device may have shifted. Disconnect the cables and reattach them in their housing. If this does not work you may need to replace your faulty ribbon.
