Laptop will not power ON

When the power button is depressed, the laptop power indicators and lights do not respond

Battery is not charged

Plug power adapter into side port and make sure light indicator is ON. Press power button ON and allow the device to boot into Windows. Select and Click on the Start Menu and then select Control Panel. Go to Performance and Maintenance>Power Options. Select the Power Meter tab. If the power meter is low, allow it to charge up to 100% before unplugging the device.

Failing power socket

Plug the AC adapter into the side port. If the light indicator does NOT illuminate, gently pull the cable out and try and re-insert it into the port. While inserting, check for the indicator light. If it still fails to illuminate, check the connection from the power block to the wall socket. Secure these connections and check for the light. If it still does not illuminate, the power socket has a fault and replacement is recommended.

Failing AC adapter

If your battery will not charge fully, the AC charging adapter could be faulty. To test, ensure that all connections from the wall to the charging adapter are secured and then power on the device. Select and Click on the Start Menu and then select Control Panel. Go to Performance and Maintenance>Power Options. Select the Power Meter tab. If the Power Status does not indicate that it is charging, the adapter is failing and should be replaced.

Battery will not hold a charge

The battery charge indicator is found by following these directions: Select and Click on the Start Menu and then select Control Panel. Go to Performance and Maintenance>Power Options. Select the Power Meter tab. If you have verified that the AC adapter is good and charging the battery but you unplug the laptop and it does not stay ON for at least 5 minutes and the indicator falls dramatically, the battery should be replaced. Follow this link to the replacement guide.
