Replaced iPhone 3GS battery

Existing iPhone 3GS battery did not last longer than 3 minutes before the phone would shut itself off. Heard about ifixit, and thought I would give replacement battery a try.

Mijn oplossing

The new battery I ordered from iFixit arrived very quickly. I followed the step by step instructions to replace the battery. At first I didn't think I would ever get the phone back together and working, but the instructions were very good.

Unfortunately after replacing the battery the phone would only turn on when plugged in. The battery I was sent was bad.

I read on the internet that iFixit had great customer service so I sent them an email about my issue, and they sent me out a new battery right away. Once again I received the new battery very quickly. I followed the instructions once again, and now that I had done the process a couple times I was able to replace the battery in a matter of minutes (10 max). Once done I turned it on, and everything works great.

I was very impressed with the customer service at iFixit, and their willingness to send me out a new battery so quickly when I said the initial one they sent me was bad. My iPhone 3GS now works as good as new.

When first taking the iPhone apart it feels like you will never be able to put it back together, but just follow the step by step instructions and all will work great.
