Background
Announced April 23rd, 2024, the seventh generation P1 mobile workstation is a simple refresh on the surface, but a big advancement under the hood. As part of Lenovo's continued commitment to simple repairs and upgradeability, and in partnership with Micron, the ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 is the first laptop to adopt and deploy the LPCAMM2 memory standard for LPDDR5X.
The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 is a 16-inch laptop marketed as a workstation, like the rest of the P series before it. It sports Intel Core Ultra chips and a wide array of display and GPU options.
The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 7 will be available starting May 2024, with an expected starting price of $2,619.
Identification
Like other ThinkPad products, the P1 Gen 7 is readily identifiable by the make and model number printed on the bottom cover, in order to aid in finding compatible parts and repair procedures.
