General Information
- The Nomad Jukebox Zen was an MP3 player released by Creative Labs on October 14, 2002.
- This was the first in the 'Zen' lineup.
Features
- Casing
- This device features an anodized aluminum case.
- This gave the device a very durable and rugged feel.
- Display
- 132 x 64 pixel EL backlit display, in Cool Ocean Blue
- Battery
- The Nomad Jukebox Zen advertised a 14 hour battery life on continuous audio playback.
- The battery was non-removable on this device.
- Storage
- This device used a traditional style hard-drive with 2.5" discs.
- This resulted in a very large amount of storage for its time.
- The base model had 20Gb of storage while other models allowed for 40Gb and 60Gb depending on the model.
- Connectivity
- Connectivity was done through USB 1.1 and Firewire.
- Later models were upgraded to USB 2.0.
- An optional wired remote allows the device to connect to FM radio.
