Keyboard Key Dectection Inconsistency

I've been having a reoccurring problem where certain keys on my keyboard don't get detected when pressed, usually my entire 3EDC column and H key although other keys are sometimes affected. They usually stop working after a period of inactivity and most of the time I can get them to work again by repeatedly pressing the affected key. I am running Debian based Linux as my main OS but I do also experience this problem in Windows 11.

I'm just putting this out to see if anyone else was having this experience or knew of any fixes.

I had same issue with virtualy same device – keys not registered and then multiple inputs when pressed on Q to P row, alt and control keypress got "stuck". Ocured in Windows 11, Ubuntu and BIOS.

I have reseated ther keyboard ribbon cable and It got fine. Well on second time at least, after first it was in day back and even worse. I have notised that even if fully inserted ther ribbon cable is little bit tilted, so I would expect problem here. You need to remove back cover (little nasty plastic "stud", cover need to by lifted by some force), disconnect and remove battery.

But your problem could be same or one line of keyboard matrix dying. Good luck with that.

I just tried cleaning and reconnecting the keyboard cable and unfortunately it didn't fix the issue. I also think it might be the keyboard matrix :(

It looks like a hardware fault. Shut down, clean the keyboard with compressed air, and gently reseat the internal keyboard ribbon (if comfortable opening it). Update BIOS/firmware as a precaution. If the issue persists across both OSes, the keyboard assembly likely needs replacement. As a temporary workaround, use an external USB keyboard.

I'll try updating the BIOS. I have been using a onscreen keyboard for the non functional keys but it sucks.
