Follow the steps below to factory reset your phone. Remember, you must fully power the phone off first.

  • Power off your Oppo A17 completely. If you are unable to unlock the screen, press and hold the power button for approximately 20 seconds to force the phone to turn off.
  • Press and hold the volume down and power keys simultaneously on your Oppo A17 for a few seconds. Depending on the Android version, the key combination may differ, such as using the power key and volume up key.
  • Release the buttons when the Oppo logo appears on the screen.
  • Use the volume up and volume down keys to navigate through the menu until you find the "Recovery Mode" option. Press the power button to select it. If the device menu appears in Chinese characters, please let me know.
  • Once in Recovery Mode, use the volume up and volume down keys to select the "Wipe Cache Partition" option. Press the power button to activate the option and clear the mobile cache.
  • After a few seconds, you will return to the previous screen. Use the volume buttons to navigate to the "wipe data/factory reset" option and press the power button to enter. You will see a screen with multiple 'NO' options and one 'YES' option. Use the volume keys again to select YES and press the power key.
  • After the reset is complete, navigate to the "reboot system now" option using the volume keys. Press the power key to confirm and restart your Oppo A17. The device will take several minutes to reboot, during which it will restore to its factory state and optimize the pre-installed applications. Please note that the specific Android version mentioned in the original text, Android 12 with ColorOS 12.1, may not apply to the Oppo A17, as the software versions may vary depending on the device model and region.

@anurag59730 "again the phone asking for password" that is correct. A factory reset will not delete the prior registered account. You will need the username/email and password that was use when the phone was originally set up.

Firmware, software, flashing and missing (forgotten) passwords are really not what we deal with on here. We are more of the hardware repair kind of group. For your "issue" I suggest you check those forums that deal with that. Simply Google terms like FRP bypass etc.
