Battery draining rapidly without a reason

I have had my phones for 2 years and suddenly the battery is draining rapidly. It would be 90% and then in about 20 mins it would go down to 0. This just started happening. I have no heavy use. Just Uber driver, doordash and grubhub chrome redditt and sometimes Youtube. That's it. no games no continues streaming nothing that would justify a rapid drainage. I have followed Youtube to get answers and have done everything like apps in deep sleep, always on turned off, adaptative bigness turned off. refresh rate down to low. When I run a Care check everything looks good. Not sure what's happening. I though I might need a OS upgrade because I had a version 7 and so I upgraded and still same thing. Anyone have this issue? Will battery replacement help?

I'd say your next step is to replace the battery. Although you've done all the right things with trying to eliminate software as the possible cause, you might want to go ahead and go through iFixit's guide for troubleshooting battery drain issues on a Samsung phone.

Samsung Galaxy Phone Battery Draining Fast - iFixit Troubleshooting

In particular you'll want to run Samsung's battery test; here's what the guide has to say about that.

Let us know what you find and be sure to ask if you need help locating a guide to that battery replacement.

Update (02/06/26)

@sambobkov Well, it could still be an issue with the battery, or more precisely the Battery Management System, or BMS - the tiny circuit board that's built into the battery itself. Your phone gets the information about the amount of charge left in the battery from the BMS, so if that's being flaky, you'll get bad information about the state of the battery.

The fix for that is the same; replace the battery.

HI thanks. Phone has something called Device Care that tests the battery performance and I got a "Good" so that fine. What I noticed is something is happening when I do a restart. I did my first restart battery was showing 99% after I did second one it went to 50% and then it died. Something during the reboot process is triggering the drain. I am surprised no one else has complained about this. I have no stupid apps on my phone so there is no other justification.
