try resetting your network settings — but do it with your SIM card removed. Go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Reset → Reset Network Settings. Once it restarts, pop your SIM back in and see if things improve.
If you can, test another carrier’s SIM in your phone. That’ll tell you if the problem is your phone or your current carrier’s coverage in your area.

Additionally, I tested the device with a friend's SIM card to rule out a carrier issue, but the problem persisted.
