Resetting the reset indicators

Refrigerator: Frigidaire model GRSS2652AF

Age: Just past the warranty period

Both the ‘Reset water filter’ and ‘Reset air filter’ indicators are on. The manual clearly states “15: Air Filter The display shows the current status of the air filter (Good, Order, or Replace). To reset the filter status to Good, press and hold Air Filter for 3 seconds.” I have done this, but the indicator is still lit. Exact same thing for the water filter.

What else can I try?

Can't say for sure, but have you tried physically removing and replacing the filter? If it has sensors such that it can tell if it's installed then it might not allow a reset unless it thinks the filter has been replaced.

My understanding is that the filters are simply timer based and that they do not measure anything.
