On what part of the cycle does the noise happen? Does it start and stop or is it continuous?

Hi @courtbug

It could be a worn or faulty clutch or perhaps a worn or faulty mode shifter.

Here's a video that shows how to replace the clutch which may help. At least you can then see if it is OK or not.

The part number for the clutch shown in the video i.e. WH05X24185 is for the one used in your model washer.

Here's a video that shows how to replace the mode shifter. The part number for the shifter shown in the video i.e. WH03X30517 is for the one used in your model washer.

If the problem is caused by either of these two parts, search online for the part number only, to find suppliers that suit you best.

Here's the mini manual that may also help. Go to p.2 and locate the field service mode entry procedure and check if performing the tests shows any error codes. The error codes and their repair action information are shown on p.1

And replacing them will help with grinding? And the issue?

@courtbug

If either of the parts mentioned are worn etc then they would be a contributing factor for the noise occurring

They're the most common cause for this to occur but not necessarily the cause in every instance.

The only way to know for sure, is to follow the videos and check if they are both OK or not, if only to confirm or eliminate them as the reason for it happening.

You could always perform the diagnostic tests first and check if they show anything
