Turns on then IMMEDIATELY shuts down.

I have a DS with a broken hinge and I purchased a broken DS to just replace the shell, I cracked open the broken one to replace everything but right as soon as I got the MOBO out of the case, something prevented me from continuing, and I just slapped everything together.

Flash forward about a year, and I go and try to turn on the DS to make sure it still worked. The green light came on, however it immediately turned off.

I cracked it open yet again to see what the problem could be. and everything seemed 100% fine. Cabled were nice and snug, all the screws were in place, but it just wouldn't turn on completely.

So it turns out that it was caused by the foam shield between the mobo and the bottom screen being slightly torn.

So check out the pads if you've worked on your DS before!!!

Hi!

Does 1 of the screens flash for a split second? If yes, then you might want to check the screens it’s ribbon cable(s)! You need to fully put it in, it goes deeper in then all the other ones.

If just only the green light goes on and off, check for shorts! This might be the case. Also be sure that the foam is intact on the lower screen. If not, it can short the motherboard.
