Controller won’t turn on, makes quiet beeping

My Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 stopped working after sitting on the charging dock for a few weeks. Since then, the Xbox button doesn’t light up either when I press it or when the controller is charging (both with the dock and different USB-C cables). The strangest thing is that the controller makes a faint beep when I press the Xbox button or connect it to charge. Video

The original battery was very swollen, so I replaced it, but that didn’t solve the problem. The beeping and non-functionality persist, whether the battery is connected or not.

What can I do to fix this?

Hi!

This is motherboard related... Please remove the motherboard and check if you can see anything. Replacing the motherboard is easier then replacing the components on it. Do you have experience with soldering? Otherwise you can measure some components and replace them if needed.

Thank you for the kind reply. Yes, I was afraid that this was motherboard related. I've attached some photos of the motherboard and the daughterboard to the main post, but I doubt it will be possible to diagnose it by looking at the pictures.

I can replace the MB, but it will cost me almost as a replacement controller from Microsoft :(

Thanks for the photo’s! Yeah, it’s probably the green board which need to be replaced… unfortunate it’s also the most expensive one as well :(. Sorry for the bad news. Hopefully you can get a cheap board somewhere…
