Why is my toaster toasting the sides of bread unevenly?

Hello.

I toasted a single piece of toast in the left side slot and it toasted unevenly. I had the digital setting on Level 4, which is dark. I later toasted a single piece of bread in the right side slot and it did the same thing. that is, one side was Level 3 and one was Level 4. The Brand Name is DCLINA. It's the two-slice toaster by Drew Barrymore. The trademark is "Beautiful" The Model No. is TA1741-UL.

I did look at the heating elements on each side and they (all four) seem to working well. I also emptied the crumb tray.

On a single slot do both sides of the element visually get to full ‘glow’ evenly on start up or one side faster than the other. If so that could cause a discrepancy in toast.

@johnpatrick what type of heating element does it have? wires or lights? Do you own an infrared thermometer to determine the difference from side to side? Could be an element issue or a PWM regulator issue.

Hi Daniel,

It seems like the inside elements are heating faster than the outside elements. That is, the elements in the center of the toaster heat faster than the outside element. Note: It's a two slot toaster.

I had a 2 slot toaster and it did the same thing. Not sure there’s a fix tbh or whether it’s just how some are poorly designed. 🤷‍♂️
