What model Air is this iSight camera cable connector for?

I purchased a replacement left hinge assembly for a 13" A1466 MacBook Air 2014 model.

The replacement cable that I was sent is EXACTLY the same in lengths and shape etc as the original part but the connector on the item I was sent is clearly of a different design and does not fit to the board connector. They were advertised as (820-3565-A) iSight Camera Cable Assembly for MacBook Air A1466 13" 2013-2017. Can anyone tell me for what model they have actually sent me, as we are in a huge fight and they fail to recognize the difference in connector and have no other alternative part to fit on my unit. and that the 2013-2017 are all the same.

I know that the 2010-2012 parts are much shorter in camera cable length and other so are not relevant to this question.

Have they sent me for an 11" as the connector on the A1465 11", but without taking an 11" apart to compare the cable lengths and to see if the new replacement actually fits which is to much hassle (The camera cable on an 11" is possibly slightly shorter and fits to the logic board at a 90 degree angle unlike the 13" which fits from under. The 13" cable has a 90 degree angle on the cable and the 11" is more straight. 11" from 2014 also has the wing design shape.

I have not in any way tried to force the new connector into the socket and the socket is not damaged in any way shape or form. It should and did simply slide in and out of the socket, as it does with the original component. I am stuck to ID this replacement part and for what model it would actually be designed for.

@livfe not sure what they have send you but I can tell you that the connector for the cable is identical between the 11" and the 13". So, even if the cable would be for a 11" it should still fit the connector on your 13"

@oldturkey03 Yes upon checking this is correct the connectors are indeed the same. Stumped.

@oldturkey03 Yes, the new part will not go inside the connection port. It seems to be the very very minutest bit to big / high / wide so.... either way it is of slightly different shape to the original part. Unfortunatly the new part did get a bit distorted from the spludger and at the edge from trying to get it in there.... anyway, the new part is now trashed so I have to order another from a different seller or just wait until some parts units come again....

When looking at the new part it looks like the wings top has come off, this is I believe to be the cable housing that is doing this, as the part itself has no wings. Really difficult to get side by side pictures on this.

There is a broken piece still inside the socket. With the better image you can see the black plastic side wall of the cable is missing a small piece.

@danj I have checked inside the socket and it is clean. The connector as I have said was frayed from the spludger and the side piece was slightly affected when initially trying to insert it,. The original part still fits perfectly without any suggestion there is something inside the connecting port, proving there is nothing inside the connector.

Again this should be a comment and not a definitive answer.

@livfe - It is a possible answer! As I can’t read minds you need keep that in mind. The fact the original cable fits proves the point as the replacement sidewall is hitting the piece still in there!

The answer I am looking for is for what model this part could possibly be for. Seems none as 11 and 13 are the same connector shapes from 2013-2017.

@livfe - As I said the original image was not good enough, the new one makes it clear there is still something in the socket or the socket is damaged. The cable connector as OT told you is the same! The newer cable uses a smaller version. There is no other connector here.

@danj On the very 1st attempt to insert the new connector after easily removing the faulty original it would not fit. Hence I looked closer and noticed the minute difference, which made me curious.... and yes the boxes you have added on the image identify another difference. The original still fits perfectly without any hassle or indication anything is inside.
