The console wakes up as soon as it gets into sleep mode
Greetings,
I recently received a switch lite that supposedly didn't boot.
Everything seems fine, no software update required, the buttons are okay, the touchscreen is responsive.
The switch seems to be charging correctly, I don't see the "Charging icon" going in and out.
Apparently, the console can go into sleep mode at random while playing.
It also wakes up after a few seconds each time it gets into sleep mode.
The battery seems fine too: Good size, depletes at a normal rate.
The USB-C port doesn't seem damaged.
The motherboard is clean.
I have tried removing and reinserting the battery / power naps, but it didn't change anything.
Do you have any idea about what could cause this problem ?
I have a multimeter, but don't quite know how to use it.
I can also solder if needed.
Thank you for your time.
Is dit een goede vraag?
I don't see any problem with the tension. I don't know which values I'm supposed to get, but, everything goes to 0 whenever it goes into sleep and everything goes back to "normal values" in an instant when the console lights up again.
I tried to clean the motherboard a bit and check if any piece was moving, but the problem stays the same.

Resetting everything does not work

Hi Ryan! This happened with the Switch like 5-6 years ago. It was a bug in the software back that day. Do you have any spare parts to test? I would test with a new battery first. But does sounds like a component on the motherboard it self.

Hi Koppie !
Unfortunately, I do not have any spare parts.
I have seen several posts indicating that some of those consoles sent to Nintendo for that problem just got replaced with other consoles having the same problem, so it might be a defect...

Yeah, this probably is motherboard related. I would try a battery first (if this is possible). Otherwise you need to run checks on the motherboard or replace it for a other one…
