What year is your Escalade, and what does the error say exactly? Does the rest of the screen work normally? Those details would help before replacing anything. This backup-camera checklist covers the different screen symptoms and what to note for a technician.

Just as an FYI Colin, the checklist you linked to is good information, but I doubt very much you're going to get a response to the things you're asking. We have enough trouble getting additional info on new questions, and it's unlikely you're going to find out anything more on a two year old question. Doesn't hurt to ask, but don't hold your breath for an answer.

i Didyou check your fuses? Make sure that the rear bumber is clear of dirt and debris too.
