Old MacBook camera usb connection

I want to remove any MacBook camera and convert it into a USB camera. Can I do this? If possible, how should I adjust the pin outputs?

@armaganoener the trouble you are running into is when you say "any" They are not universal (wiring) so it will work better if you can be specific to a certain year or macbook model.

Check the wiring and remember that you are dealing with some very fine wires. For the A1181 the wiring to USB will be

Orange==> GND (-)
Orange==> VCC (+)
Blue==>Data +
Brown==> Data -

Now, let us know why you would want to do that instead of buying a USB webcam which has better specs than a Macbook Camera :-)

I have a few webcams on hand. Actually, 4 of them :). However, none of them are as good quality as the built-in camera on my MacBook, unfortunately. I have a broken MacBook, and both out of curiosity and because I think its camera might be better, I want to try it out :)

Thank you for your support :)

@armaganoener what is the exact number for your MacBook that those cameras are out of? We can try and see if we can provide more help.

@armaganoener so it's a MacBook Pro Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015. Let's see what I got on those cam connectors.
