Hi! I have an old school Whirlpool Dishwasher Model DU8500KB-0 that is all the sudden not draining. I cannot find a manual on it to figure out where the filter and drain are to inspect. Everything else working fine.

Your dishwasher model is a DU8500XB0 and not a DU8500KB0. There's a crease in the label passing through the X in the model number, so it appears as though it might be a K, but when zoomed in you can see it isn't. (see image below)
Can you hear if the drain pump motor is operating (or trying to operate) when the dishwasher should be draining?
There is no drain filter in the dishwasher so if you can hear the pump operating and if the water is not draining through the drain hose into the household drainpipe connection (normally the dishwasher drain hose is connected to the drainpipe under the sink in the kitchen) then usually the most common reason for this is either the drain pump is faulty i.e. broken impeller or there's a problem with the check valve

Please verify the model number as searching online for the model you posted gives no results?
The closest model number is DU8500XB-0
