I just replaced my battery. How long does it take to start charging. I know when batteries are real dead it takes awhile to start. Help I'm down 2 ipods with none of them working.

@paulwortman you should see a sign of life after about 30 min. Anything above, It appears as if your battery is not charging. You'll have to check the battery, the battery connector (which has a bad tendency of breaking of the board on this model). It is also possible that this is a bad dock connector. Check those parts carefully and let us know what you find,

Thanks I'll try that. I'm just a little gun shy now. In all the videos it looks so easy.
@paulwortman I hear you and it is a bit if a PITA to open. If you follow the guides on here it’ll work. Only thing I would deviate from is the release of the battery connector licking tab. I do not ever use an opening tool. I use a paper clip, bend it into a L shape. Then I use the bottom of the L to pull the lock straight up. That way I do not exert any lateral pressure on the connector.
These are great points. Just need to get in there and do it.
