Hi @clalrinchhana

WiFi Troubleshooting steps:

Do these in the order shown to see if you can solve the WiFi problem in the laptop.

Software:

Just verifying that you tried pressing the F12 key to turn the WiFi on and off, and also run the Windows Network troubleshooter as you haven't mentioned what you have tried?

To run the WiFi network troubleshooter in Win 10, right-click the network connection icon, and then select Troubleshoot problems and follow the prompts.

Check the status of the WLAN adapter as shown in Device Manager.

In Win10/11 press the Win key + x key (both together) and click on the Device Manager link in the options box that opens. (If Win 7 type Control Panel in the search box on the desktop and then click on Control Panel → Device Manager)

When in Device Manager scroll down to Network Adapters, click the > symbol to the left of the category to expand the list and then right click on the WLAN entry (it may be Ralink RT3290LE 802.11bgn 1x1) then click on Properties → General and check what in shows in the Device status box in the General tab e.g. it may state this device is working correctly or some fault code

If there is a red cross next to the WiFi entry right click the entry → Enable and follow the prompts. Restart the laptop in the normal manner and check if the WiFi now works.

If there is a yellow exclamation mark next to the WiFi entry right click the entry → Update drivers and follow the prompts. You need to be online (Ethernet or WiFi adapter) for this to work.

If there's no WiFi mentioned in Network Adapter, check if there's a category called Other Devices and if there is check in there or if no category then click on Device Manager → View → Show hidden devices and check if you can find it listed anywhere in Device Manager. If it is listed elsewhere in Device Manager, right click on the entry → Update drivers and follow the prompts.

If the WiFi adapter is shown to be working in Device Manager, try using the laptop's WiFi as close as possible to your home network router i.e. <20cm and check if it connects and works OK. If so it may be an antenna problem in the laptop. If not it may be a hardware problem.

Hardware:

If the above software checks indicate that the WiFi adapter is working OK (even though it isn't) and it works OK close to the router here's the maintenance and service guide for the laptop. Go to p.61 to view the procedure to remove the WLAN module. This will allow you to check if the two WiFi antennas are securely connected to the card.

If it is not listed in Device Manager or if it doesn't work close to the router it may be a faulty WLAN card. Search online for 690020-005 to find suppliers that suit you best. The manual describes how to remove/replace the WLAN card

Note: WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) = WiFi
