Hi @anthonycoch7631

You may be able to retrieve some (enough?) storage space by clearing the Recycle Bin of any previously deleted data that has be saved there and also by clearing the Windows Temp folder (type %temp% in the search box on the desktop and then click on Open in the app options box that appears, next highlight all the files in the right hand pane of the Win Explorer window that is open i.e. all the files in the Temp folder and right click > delete. You will have to remove them from the Recycle Bin after this

If your laptop model is HP Stream 14-ax000 series model it is limited to having only 32GB of eMMC storage.

Windows OS can take from 16GB-20GB of storage alone without any hardware specific drivers installed and then there's all the other 3rd party programs you have installed, as well. There's not much capacity left for your personal data

Unfortunately eMMC storage in this laptop cannot be upgraded as it is hard mounted on the systemboard and is considered not removable/replaceable.

The best option to increase storage capacity is to insert the largest capacity SD card that you can afford or want to have into the laptop's card reader port and then configure it as a 2nd storage drive (G: drive perhaps) and leave it permanently inserted.

Then move all your personal data folders onto it e.g. Documents, Pictures, Downloads, Videos folders etc, leaving the main drive i.e. C: drive as the drive where the OS (Windows) and any 3rd party programs are loaded. Search online for how to do this

Doing this has its advantages:

You can easily retrieve your data if you don't have a recent backup. If you don't have a backup then retrieving your data from eMMC storage is not easy or cheap to do if the laptop fails

It is unobtrusive and out of the way.

You can remove it at any time to keep it safe if the laptop is unattended (don't forget to "unmount" it first).

Disadvantages are:

You have to keep on removing/reinserting it if you often use the card reader for other purposes e.g. reading camera's SD card to download photos etc

Others can also easily remove i.e. steal, the card as well, but they would have to know that it is there in the 1st place. I won't tell if you don't ;-)
