the glass on the back of my 40mm is broken on the curve of the sensor. Is there a way to replace it without a complete disassembly? Especially because of the difficulty as said in the teardown.

Sadly, you need to enter into the watch from the display side to gain access to the back sensor plate charging connections as you noted.
