The "PWR" is not lit on router, only "WPS" is lit

I've got a netis w1 router I haven't been using this since 5-6 months and now when i tried to turn it on, only the "WPS" led is lit and nothing else. When i left it for around 5-10 mins the LAN2, LAN1 and WAN also gets lit. I cannot see the name of the router in the available network list. Cannot access its configuration page using ethernet also. Please help

Hi @theproblemmaker

Check if there is a button on the back of the router called default.

If there is press and hold it until all the lights on the front of the router begin to flash.

When they do, release the button and then allow some time for the router to reinitialize.

Once this is done since the router has been reset back to its factory default settings, you will have to access its configuration page and set it up again, to suit your requirements.

I tried resetting the router multiple times but it doesn't affect at all. The router doesn't show any response to the reset button click and remains unchanged.

If the reset didn't work then it appears there's a problem in the router.

How old is it?

If it is < 1year old make a warranty claim to get it fixed or replaced

Hi @theproblemmaker

It appears that you're encountering difficulties with your Netis W1 router. Given your description, the router isn't behaving as expected. The fact that only the "WPS" LED initially lights up and the other indicators come on after a delay might indicate a potential issue with the router's startup sequence. However, you're unable to find the router's name in the list of available networks, and you're also unable to access its configuration page via Ethernet.

To address this, there are a few steps you can consider. First, ensure that all cables are securely connected, including the power cable and Ethernet cables. Sometimes, a loose connection can lead to unexpected behavior. If the issue persists, you could attempt a factory reset of the router. Typically, routers have a reset button that can be pressed for a certain duration to restore the router's settings to their default state. Be aware that this action will erase any customized settings you had configured previously.

If these steps don't yield positive results, it might be worth trying a different Ethernet cable and connecting a different device to the router to see if the problem is device-specific. If you can't access the router's configuration page, you might not be able to update the firmware, but if you had access before, it's worth considering if a firmware update might help resolve the issue.

If these troubleshooting steps don't resolve the problem, it's advisable to contact Netis customer support for further assistance. They can provide guidance tailored to your specific router model and help you address the issue effectively.
