vizio d43f-f1 vertical lines on screen

one of my neighbors left this by the dumpster so i grabbed it. plugged it in and turned it on and was greeted by vertical lines on the screen. could this be the panel that's bad or the tcon board?

@techlord it's not the T-con board and it's not the panel (well in theory it's not). What you have here is that one of the leads in ribbon cables from the LCD drivers has lost contact with the LCD itself. Those are attached via a special process and really can't be replaced by us mere mortals.

Sometimes, what you can do, is to a. check that particular ribbon and then apply pressure to it and see if you can get the cable to make contact again. If so, get some Thermal pad material. Fold it in a way that iot is just the width of the ribbon cable. Now apply a couple of strips of and use some cloth adhesive tape to apply pressure to the cable.
