I damaged my phone, what should I do?

I cracked my phone screen at the top and I'm trying to figure out where to go from here. The half that the crack is on is black and won't display anything. The other half will flicker green, sometimes displaying the touch ID or navigation bar. It still vibrates as if I'm clicking something when I tap it, but I can barely see anything. How bad is the damage? Do I need to replace it entirely?

Hi @chili38357

It may be only a damaged display.

First step would be to replace the display assembly and then check if there are any other problems.

You could also check the internal components for any obvious damage whilst the phone is open when replacing the display.

Here's the ifixit Samsung Galaxy S20 Screen Replacement guide that may help.

Here are the part numbers for the Galaxy S20 SM-G980F complete display module(s). Search online using the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.

SM-G980F aura red GH82-22131E

SM-G980F cloud blue GH82-22131D

SM-G980F cloud pink GH82-22131C

SM-G980F cloud white GH82-22131B

SM-G980F cosmic grey GH82-22131A.

If doing this yourself seems too daunting, contact a reputable, professional mobile phone repair service and ask for a quote. If you have searched for replacement display modules at least you will already know the cost of the part.
