How to read Program chart (schematic diagram)

My dishwasher service manual has this chart, but doesn't explain how to read it. Any clues? Thanks!

@pepper63099 Is your dishwasher broken or are you just trying to understand service manuals better?

Both! :)

1. My dishwasher doesn't seem to divert water to the top/bottom drawers. I suspect it's a tiny crack in the bottom "pin" of the diverter valve MJX32862501 that doesn't make it turn properly. I have no error code that would indicate a failure in the diverter motor.

2. I stumbled upon that diagram and i have a feeling that it details the duration of each segment of the washing cycle. This is something I've always been curious about, but I couldn't find anywhere. If that's what it is, I'd love to be able to read the chart, however there's no legend.

Thank you!

What is the model number of the dishwasher?

Looking at the part number you linked, most Google search responses for the part call it a Dishwasher Diverter Sump Check Valve.

This may mean that it diverts water to the drain pump when applicable and not individually to either the upper or lower drawers if this is what you mean or is it that there's no water getting to either of the drawers.

@jayeff It's an LDF7932st

I placed a camera in the dishwasher and there is definitely no water in the top drawer, though there is some water being sprayed from the bottom spray arm. However, even the bottom dishes come out dirty.

The diverter sump check valve has a hairline crack in the bottom, so it doesn't fit tightly on the diverter motor. I wonder if that causes the water to flow (even partially) in a direction that is not supposed to.

If I knew how to read that program chart i could better calculate when in the cycle the top drawer is expected to get water.

Can you hear any difference in the sound of the circulation pump (wash motor) operating once the dishwasher has begun to wash?

The circulation pump, pumps the water through both of the spray arms and it is the water pressure that causes them to turn.

Did you notice if the arms turned at all or was there water just coming out of the lower arm without it turning or barely turning?

If the arms aren't turning then it may be a faulty motor. Even though you may hear it operating it could be a faulty or loose impeller in the motor.

The manual only shows that a motor error code will be there if the impeller, blade or rotor is locked not if the impeller loose and is slipping which means the rotor can still be turning even though the impeller is not.

If the valve has a crack is there water leaking out through the crack or going down the drain when it is washing?

I can't figure out the program chart except perhaps it pertains to the program code and not the duration of each event in a complete cycle. The manual states that a complete cycle should not last more than 99 minutes.

Also did you try the Dual Intensity option and check if there's any difference?
