The iPod Seventh Generation, marketed and sold as the "iPod Classic", was released in September 2009, and did not have any visible differences compared to the previous version. It simply replaced the previous 120GB iPod Classic 6.5 with a thin 160GB version.

@molina671169627 make sure that your iTunes sync is off before you plug your iPod in. If it is not, iTunes will sync over your existing music on your iPod. I would do it this way to be safe.

@oldturkey03 Thanks! That worked perfectly!. And about my other problem (computer not recognizing my ipod) it was both the USB cable and iTunes not having the ipod software. How did it lose it? I have no idea. But all your guidance tips were right on point. Thanks once again!

@molina671169627 you are welcome. I love those "old" iPods. We'll do whatever we can do, to help others keeping theirs going.

Once your iPod is connected, you can go to the devices icon on iTunes and select it.

Then, go to the sidebar to visit the Music section.

From here, you can just turn on the option to sync your music. You can choose to sync the entire library or select the playlist, artists, or albums of your choice. Hope this Helps. :)
