Broken USB Port, No Output

I was working on a project with a microcontroller, the voltage regulator blew up and it backfed 12V into the PC presumably. Both USB's and USB C's do not output signals, there is no connection between mice, external hard drives, monitors, etc., but the USB C still accepts power. Do the USB's need to be replaced or is there a module I need to get replaced?

Edit for some additional info:
1. I've reinstalled the USB drivers, this didn't work.
2. Anything input into the ports does not show up in device manager.
3. The computer is otherwise completely functional so far.

Update (04/10/23)

HP elitebook x360 1030 G7, forgot to include that.

@zanuarkjordan the issue will not be the USB ports. You are going to have issues with the IC's and other components, on the motherboard. Time to take your computer apart to check the motherboard. You did not give us your complete model etc. so all I could attach was the HP EliteBook 1040 G4 which may or may not be helpful to you. Once you are in your computer, check the motherboard and let us know what board it is. There will be identifiers silkscreened on it. If we are lucky, we might find the proper schematic to assist you further.
