Hi,

The memory is hard mounted on the systemboard and is considered non removable.

If you need to recover data from the nand memory storage you either have to get the tablet working again or use proprietary data recovery software and hope that it can recover the data.

Does the tablet indicate that the battery is charging when the charger is connected?

Has the tablet been dropped or water damaged?

The screen is broken and not able to see desktop, whether batt charging or not. I don't want to recover data but to destroy anything that my personal info can be removed/used. Thank you for your reply.

@Sandy Balch

Since the screen is damaged anyway and assuming that you don't want to fix the tablet and you don't want to recover data, remove the battery from the tablet and then place the tablet in a thick sack and use a hammer to smash it to pieces.

That way the data will never be accessible.

Here's the ifixit Samsung Galaxy Tab A 7.0 Battery Replacement guide that will help.

Dispose of the battery responsibly

Make sure that you remove the SD card if installed, (see p.12 of the user manual) and erase that in a card reader connected to a computer
