Keys do not work

My keys for my Kia Soul have been not working, I have to take out the spare key and unlock the car manually instead of being able to unlock from the key automatically. I have tried everything including re charging and giving the keys a bit of a break before trying again. Please help!

Hi

What is the year model of the vehicle?

Have you tried replacing the battery in the fob key?

Was the car's battery replaced just before the keys stopped working?

Hello, thank you so much for helping me! The year model is 2011, I did try and replace the battery and the battery was replaced after the key stopped working in attempt to try and work the keys again.

Try to reprogram the key and see if that works.

  1. Get in the car and and ensure that all the doors are completely shut and then insert the key into the ignition keylock.
  2. Turn the key from off to on in the ignition repeatedly until you hear the door locks cycle. You should end the process with the key turned to the on position. The on position is not the engine start position, but where the key is when the instrument panel lights/gauges etc turn on
  3. Then try pressing the lock or unlock button on the key fob. If the doors respond by locking or unlocking (depending on which button you pressed), the key fob has been successfully reprogrammed.
  4. Turn the key back to the off position in the ignition. The door locks should cycle again, indicating the end of the programming sequence.

My car dosnt have an ignition keylock it has a start button! I'm so sorry I should have mentioned that!
