Tv flickering and some parts dim

I recently bought this e55-e1 tv and its having some issues. What do you think is wrong and what should I do? I was told all it needs is a power board but want to make sure before i buy one. I've messed with setting for a solid half hour and nothing seemed to work. Bottom half of the tv is about double the brightness of the rest of the tv. Also saw theres 2 different power board that were used on the tv does it matter which one i get?

Hi @goofy2342

There's a problem with the LED backlighting in the screen.

Whether it is the LEDs or the power board or even a faulty connection between the two, would have to be determined.

Don't know Vizio that well but it seems that there are different versions of the TV having the same model number so getting the correct power board is important as it has to match the other hardware that is used in the set.

You can determine if it is the LEDs or the power board by connecting the strips to a TV led backlight tester (examples only) which is used without the TV being powered on or the LEDs connected to the board i.e. they're tested in isolation. If they're OK with the tester it may be the power board or less likely the mainboard, (it tells the power board what to do).

LED strips are available online. Here's a supplier that may help as they state which version of the TV the strips are suitable for, which a lot of others don't. They also include a video that shows how to change them ;-)
