Do I need a heat mat? And if so what one?
Will i need a het mat to take it apart and if ao what one is the best?

On an iPhone 6? No heat necessary. Those are easy. Just a suction cup and some caution.
This is technically for screen replacement, but opening procedure is all in here.

No worries. These are the easiest iPhones to work on, in my opinion. I could probably put a new battery in one of these in under 5 minutes (I have also done a LOT of iPhone battery replacements). Good luck on your repair!
