phone wont charge properly when all the way off or when turned on

My Moto g6 wont charge poperly when turned all the way off. It will show the charging icon, then show battery persentage, but then a white light turns on in the upper right hand corner of the front of the phone for about half a second and then it repeats the whole prosess I just described over and over. Also, my phone wont charge at all when im using it. Any ideas about what could be wrong?

@pb06 before anything else you do want to change the battery. Do not rely on the display battery percentage since that will not reflect a battery that cannot hold its charge. Motorola Moto G6 Vervanging van de batterij
