why is a dodge question listed under Mazda protégé? And what do you mean turns off cold? Could you please edit your question? Provide more details, please, such as what is going cold. And please use periods. It is difficult to read with almost zero punctuation.

I don't know where am I supposed to list it at then you tell me cuz this first time I've been on there

@brandon_k I guess cuz I didn't know where to list of that can you tell me where to list the Dodge at then

@Connie Neukam when you go to ask a question, you select what type of device/machine it is. You just picked the wrong one. Not a huge deal. But we need more specifics. What is getting hot, what is going cold, what is turning off cold.

Connie I edit it for you . To your question I ask some questions . Does the heater work all the time or does it shut off as well ? If the heater works, when the defroster shuts off is it just the fans that quit or is it still running and is the air cold thats blowing out? Have you back flushed the heater core . This could help

We always did back flush it twice and it still doesn't work I wonder if it could be the switch maybe the switch is bad or burned up on the defrost

Connie does the blower motor work ? Can you hear it running and does it blow cold air. Does it blow in all speeds ? The flapper on the vent door may be stuck closed and be drawing air from your air conditioning vent and not through your heater core . Put your hand down under the dash and feel for anything warm . If theres heat in the heater core and the flaps not open you wont get anything for heat .
