Virus - Miner, CPU load, Windows 10

Hi.

I think my laptop has a virus in it, which can not be identified by windows security. In “Windows security” - ”Virus and threat protection” - ”Exclusions”, the exclusions are adding to list without my permission. If laptop is not in use for 4 minutes, the CPU stars running at 100% and as soon as i touch mouse or type any button it gets back to normal work, also if the Task Manager is opened this “thing” will not occur (all works normally).

I was advise to (buy) install Kaspersky antivirus.

Do you have another option to deal with this kind of abnormality?

Thanks!))

Has the laptop data been backed up?

Yes, but.

Recently I’ve made a recovery point ( before virus attack ), then the virus got into system, and deleted my recovery point. Then I’ve deleted a virus (I guess the main part), but small part of it still lives inside the system.

A permanent Antivirus solution like Kaspersky may be best to prevent future issues. But for the current abnormality, a free download of Malwarebytes (https://www.malwarebytes.com) can work. Having a data backup to OneDrive is always a good idea, as well.

Did the Malwarebytes, didn’t help.

If the Antivirus scan did not remove the infection, try a clean installation of Windows. Download the Windows 10 file from Microsoft's site at https://www.microsoft.com/software-downl... 10. Burn the file to a DVD or USB drive, and boot your PC from it to do the clean install.

This will remove your files, so be sure save them first. Saving the files to OneDrive instead of a USB may reduce the risk of reinfection when you transfer them back to your new Windows installation.

Could try malwarebytes, or use a trial of an antivirus.

As asked, if you have a backup, would recommend a re-image of the system.
