How to remove stripped screw from the back of the case?

I’ve been meaning to replace my analog stick for the 3DS Xl but to do that I have to remove the back casing of the console. I’ve been frustrated enough to keep driving the screw that eventually it becomes stripped. I have done the following; rubber band, super glue, tin foil and solder but the screw is too tight. I don’t want to risk breaking the casing even if it’s old. Are there ways to remove this stripped screw?

So if you can pick up a tiny screw extractor, Ifixit has a set that may work. If not you may need to drill it out with a tiny drill bit. But be real careful with this method. i would try screw extractor first. And even the super glue again. when you do the super glue. be sure you give it plenty of time to set up.

I have also had some luck drilling out just a bit further down and then using screw extractor. And or in a few cases using a dremal to cut a line in the screw and use a flat head screw driver to get it out. But if your are not careful this can damage the case real easy.

This looks like a very small screw. If using the dremel method, wear down the cutting disc on some scrap first, so it has a smaller radius

@gkjarhead Thank you! I was able to drill the screw and the case has been removed. After removing the case, there are 3 recessed stripped screw. :( I was able to remove the one but I'm not able to remove the other 3. I don't want to make it worse by drilling again.

@rlsid at this point there are not a lot of options. Drilling, screw extractor, or strong glue. You may be able to find a small tap to fix any damage done by drilling
