Anker SoundCore Sport XL Disassembly

I have an AnkerSoundCore XL. It’s no longer charging and I’m trying to replace the micro USB port by follow a guide for a similar device, the Anker Soundcore.

The front of the Anker Soundcore Sport XL is different. It seems like there are allen screws in them, but I can’t tell if they’re for show. No standard allen key seems to work.

Does anyone know how to disassemble the Anker Soundcore Sport XL to replace the micro USB port? Will the guide below be similar steps after removing the front?

So, I have the same speaker with the same problem regarding the USB charging port (mine has a bad connection, is very loose). I found out how to open the front: you can slid a knife between the hard and soft plastic parts - no screws needed there - and then the front lifts up rather easily. I found a youtube video which is a bit blurry at the beginning but that’s how I got the idea, I hope it works to place a link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFuO3JlK... Sorry, my English isn’t perfect, don’t know how to describe it better. I haven’t proceeded any further yet. Would be interested in your repairing results/process if you have any :)

It just pops off, get a knife in under the grill and it'll slowly come off, the Allen key things are for looks. Then there's lots of screws, easy enough. The central piece is just rubber, carefully get that off. You should be able to get a knife or such between the outer rubberised body and the plastic thing the speakers are attached to, that will pop up. You can then detach all the wires as they're plug types usefully.

I'm a little stuck at getting the charge port itself out, but is will only be a matter of time before it bends to my iron will!!! Lol, good job I didn't put a Y in there lol. Anyhow, there ya are for anyone who wants to try this

Hi there, no problem putting everything apart (just few plastic pins got broken 🤬) but I still have problems reaching the charging port, I don't want to brake the lid but I can't understand how it cames off. Anyone of you does have any tip?

If it is still of interest for someone, I uploaded two images regarding the disassambly of the charging platine.

The green mark show the position where you can place some tool to level out the charging platine.

Make sure to use only gentle force, to not break the extension that holds the screws.

The plate is glued at the bottom, so you will hear a noise indicating that the glue comes loose.

I was able to disassable it by levering a little bit on the one side, then the other and repeated until it came apart.

Hi Damien, I just got a broken one and I think that this could be battery related. My issue was charging related, but it was ultimately caused by a dirty usb port. If I were you I'd check battery connection. Luckily it's pretty easy to access. Just follow the guides above to remove the speaker grill, and then you can remove the left speaker (or both). Remove the four screws, and then you'll need a thin spuger, or guitar pick, to pry the speaker out gently. From there you'll see exactly where the battery connects to the main board.
