LOUD Message on power-on - can it be turned off? 2Boom BT488 Speaker

I recently bought a 2Boom Torrent model BT488 bluetooth speaker. When you power it up, it announces in a loud voice, “POWER ON! BLUETOOTH CONNECTED!” And I mean it’s LOUD. I can’t imagine using it early in the morning in my home office, when others are still asleep.

Once it’s on, you can control the volume through your device (not through the speaker itself), but I can’t find a way to lower or mute that startup message. Any ideas?

Well, To say @ my Best, I Have the same predicament too. It BUGS me! I always have to cover my speaker in a firm, squishy pillow, or take the grille off, & push on the speaker drivers, to MUFFLE The Sound, until the BT prompts STOP. I want to turn the prompts down to 50%, and not MAX! & I hate when I get incoming calls, Cuz it says...”INCOMING CALL!” @ MAX!

I have the same problem. No solution. Not sure what the design team was thinking. Won’t buy anything else from this company. Am throwing the 2Boom out as in “KaBoom”.

Yep when I disconnect my phone and reconnect to the speaker on the call the hum gets louder louder and louder and it hurts my friends ear I wouldn't be making calls with my 2 boom speaker water proof anymore because of the hum

my BT speaker does the same thing. Stupid loudly, at that. So when I power it on I just hold the speaker face against my thigh until it says bluetooth connected. Muffles it well enough. Theres really no way I've ever found to change this issue.

I use the circuitry from cheap blue-tooth speakers as part of my art. Unfortunately, this is one of the few things programmed into the tiny chips on these speaker motherboards. Someone once suggested they use a gentle tone to indicate the speakers are active. The company replied “POWER ON!!!!” And when they asked not to be yelled at, the company replied, “THE BLUE TOOTH DEVICE IS READY TO PAIR!!!!”

This thing sounds just okay despite being junk IT'S NOT EVEN A STEREO SPEAKER! That's right, two speakers running in mono. Even the external headphone jack input results in mono sound!

Bizarrely, the terrible loud voice message recordings of a hacker phone calling from his mom's basement, actually might be stereo! The part you don't want to even hear has the loudest volume and beat source! 🤣I would gladly trade all the other useless features for actual stereo sound.

What garbage 🤣
