Wireless, over the ear gaming headset.

Why does my Logitech G930 Headset sometimes disconnect and reconnect?

I’ve had this headset for a few years now, and they work well, but I’ve had this problem ever since I’ve owned them. About 2-3 times per game session, the headphones will disconnect and I won’t be able to hear anything or use the mic. After about 5 seconds of no sound, there will be a beep and then headphones reconnect and work as normal.

It’s not that I’m out of range, as I’m right next to the computer and usb stick. Would love to stop this from interrupting my games. Thanks!

Outside of making sure you are on the most recent version of the Logitech software, my guess is they have a fault component. The best way to test this would be to plug them into another PC, install the logitech software and see if you get the same issue. If the issue continues its a problem with the headset.

I do not know the definite answer but maybe some other wireless devices are interfering with the connection between the computer and the headset. Try moving things like phones and wireless speakers away and see if it improves. Not really sure what any other cause would be besides just faulty components.

I don't have any wireless speakers -just my laptop on the desk - and my phone at my nightstand. Not sure what could be interfering... could a wireless mouse cause the problem? I DO use that.

I have this issue as well, headset worked flawless first fev years of it's like than it's now just like how this user's headset is acting. I'd buy a new headset, but I luv this one. Logitech matched my G700 mouses square charge cord to fit in tte same square hole of chis headset, making it robost to charge and play. The buttons are big and easy to find/press, along with the volume wheel being large and easy to roll. I wouldnt chance anynhing about this headset. Just wish it gets a refresh/update for newer wireless technology, so this disconnecting issue wouldnt occur.

This might be a reach, but for anyone struggling with a similar problem with any of their devices, I would try disabling USB selective suspend setting in the advanced power settings:

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Click on the Power Options icon.
  3. Next to the currently active power plan (i.e. "Balanced"), click on the Change plan settings link.
  4. Click on Change advanced power settings.
  5. In the Power Options window, expand the USB settings section.
  6. Expand the USB selective suspend setting, click on the setting, and set it to Enabled.
  7. Click OK to save your changes!

If for some reason the system thinks your headset dongle is "idle", this should prevent it from being temporarily suspended. Either way, there's no point to keeping this setting enabled if you're on a desktop.
