Why is my MacBook Air not starting up after 4 months of being unused?

Hi All,

Recently due to Covid 19 lockdown, I went to my hometown & left my 2013 MacBook Air at my temporary resident in Mumbai, India. When I returned back after 4 months & tried to start my laptop then it is not at all turning on. The MagSafe charger stays orange only for days & even weeks & does not turn into green. I had it checked at one of near by local shop & they said motherboard needs to be replaced which will costs 26000 INR for 4 GB RAM. Could anyone please let me know if logic board could be the real issue or there can be some other issue as well which can be troubleshooted & fixed with lesser cost? Any help will be much appreciated.

Hardik Patel what did they check? What made them suspect the logic board? How old is your battery? Did they try a new battery?

More likely your battery died!

Lets do this, disconnect the battery following this guide: MacBook Air 13" Mid 2013 Vervanging van de batterij. Follow it to Step 3, Now with nothing plugged in press and hold the power button for a good 15 secs. Now tilt the system onto its side with the MagSafe on the top. Now just plug in the MagSafe alone. Your system should start up on its own. Did it? If it did then you need a new battery MacBook Air 13" (Late 2010-2017) Battery
