Do I just need to try a brand new screen?

I know this is a long shot but I just want to have access to my old phone. I dropped my old iPhone 6s in the toilet about 3 years ago. The day it happened the phone was working fine and then shut off about 4 hours after the initial drop. I’ve already had another phone since that one I just really want to see what’s on it and get my pictures from it. When I plug the phone in it will charge and I can hear the sound it makes when you plug it in with the ringer on and it vibrates when I plug it in with the ringer off and when I put my thumb on the home button. However, the screen doesn’t turn on it was doing this thing where it had some coloring on it like the screen was trying to work and it was so close. I tried switching the screen with another 6s screen that I had from another old phone, but it didn’t work, the screen just stayed black. When I switched back to the original screen the random coloring went away. It will also vibrate when I switch the ringer back and forth. I’m new to the whole fixing electronics thing, as in this is my first project.
