No lights on screen

Hi, I have a Maytag fridge freezer, model GC2227GEK5. The problem I have is that the display lights, and the temp lights go off and the water/ice facility’s don’t work. It initially was intermittent happening maybe for 5mins a day, then coming back on. However it has got worse and is happening for most of the day. When the display if off, the fridge and the freezer works fine. Any one with any idea. The only thing I can think is that it maybe the control panel, however this is behind the display in the freezer door, with no obvious way of getting to it. I have tried pressing the buttons that was a previous question
