Can I fix a dent in the back?

My son stepped on my IPad 12.9 - 3 when it was face down and in it’s case. The screen isn’t broken but the dent in the back in making 1 inch of the screen black. If I open it up can I somehow bend the dent out and if I did, will that fix the screen issue it is causing?

Update (05/06/2020)

Thanks so much Jesse. It’s not causing a black spot but rather a black line across the screen. I’m wondering if I bought small suction cups could I pull the dent out and if I did, would that fix the black line?

If it’s causing a black spot on that display then it most likely suffered damage and will need replacement. This generation of iPad Pro is notorious for being easily bent because of how weak and thin the frame structure is. To fix that dent you’ll need to tear it all apart. At that point I would just transfer it to a new frame. Here’s a link of how easy it bends: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUBsxCcJ... skip to 6:25 to see it bend.
