Cannot Enter DFU Mode to Restore after lost passcode

Hi All, We recently found an old ipad I had and couldnt remember the passcode so it went into “Ipad Disabled Connect to Itunes” we tried this but Itunes couldnt access the iphone as it required the passcode to trust the computer.

So I entered it in DFU and chose the update option in Itunes - the update failed and since then it will no longer go in to DFU mode. The screen remains blank as home is pushed after the home and restart button are pushed together.

What can we do ?
