Why is my MacBook Air turning off after a few minutes w/ 40% battery?

My laptop hasn’t had any battery problems prior to today, it also maintains battery charge for about 12 hours. It has now shut off 4 times in an hour a minute or two after starting up again and I tried a bunch of odd fixes like restarting, not running the same programs and force quitting all my applications, no luck. Only fix is to keep it plugged in but that’s a sure way to kill the battery so I can’t maintain that.

It has only been through 90 battery cycles and although it’s a 2017 I got it from Apple as a replacement for another one a year ago.

Also always comes back on with volume muted and at full volume as well as with the Spotify application running, if that's relevant.
