Hi @dandy64 ,

Couple of things to try:

Clear the tablet’s cache partition and check if this resolves the problem. Here’s how to do this.

Start the tablet in safe mode and check if the problem is still there or not.

If the problem is no longer there when in safe mode, then a downloaded app is the cause of the problem. The trick is to find out which one. You will have to uninstall the downloaded apps, one by one then restart the phone in normal mode between each uninstall to see if the problem is still there or not.

When it has gone then the last downloaded app to be uninstalled was the problem.

Since it only started recently, check which downloaded apps were installed or updated on or around the 12/15/2019 and start with them.

HI thanks for the safe mode advice. However the problem persists with the 'Google Keeps Stopping' pop up consistently appearing on screen.

HI @p_lafferty ,

You may have to do a factory restore to reset the firmware.

--------------------------IMPORTANT---------------------------------

Backup the tablet to a pc or the cloud before performing the reset, because the reset will erase all your data and downloaded apps. It will restore the tablet to its' factory default or last system updated condition.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once the backup is completed, factory restore the tablet using the tablet's factory restore feature.

Once it has been reset test if it works OK.

If it works OK using the backup that you made earlier, restore the tablet using the tablet's restore feature.

Once it has been restored, check that it still works OK.

I'm unable to do a backup because Samsung cloud needs to do a backup and Google play doesn't work :(

@yolandaneal I wonder if uninstalling all updates for the Google play app can fix some issues. You can also uninstall all updates for Google Play services, Google app itself, etc. Then, while connected to Wifi, open the Play Store and check for app updates. It will update all those apps again and maybe fix anything that was somehow broken.

This happened to my older galaxy tablet. I ended up doing a factory reset which fixed it, but it turns out the problem was with Microsoft office apps. Not even sure if it’s possible to uninstall those. But it says now that they no longer are supported, although worked fine before.

If factory reset is not an option, I did see an answer online referring to a smartphone but sounds like it can be applicable here..

I had this problem and nothing worked. I eventually had to do a factory reset on my Nook.
