No battery detection with new Logic Board

Hi I have a A1708 with function keys. After dead logic board I ordered a used one of eBay. Replaced and booting up. First completely erased disc and made full install of delivered high Sierra. Then I saw that no battery is detected (PPT001 in diagnose). Boots up and schows 100% and X in battery symbol. At a short moment it showed battery 0%. Made SMC reset…nothing. High chance of high discharged status of the battery but my usb c tool only shows 0,5A when running…so it’s definetely not charging.

what is the problem with “new” logic board and old battery ? Is there any workaround? Thx on advance

Looks like there is something wrong with dates?

Had the Problem with date at new installation of High Sierra with “CERT” failure because date was set to 19xx.

Does coconut Display different results than System report? System report says no battery detected

It offers a better view and boils it all down into a more compact screen. Please let's see what it shows us.

For reference: Battery suddenly not recognized. MBP Fn 2017 which has a similar problem.

Posted it down below. Strange thing is, when I start up and the apple logo and statusbar is on screen and I pull the cord, then it loads till system is "up"...then it shuts off.

@BenjaminS - This makes sense! When you disconnect the USB-C power cable the system looses its settings so the date reverts to the default 1979.

Thank you dan for your advice.

SOLVED:

It was the “Data-Cable” which connects Battery and Main Logic-Board. Just replaced it with a new one and its working again.

Are you sure ? Before replacing the Board everything worked fine. Are there any probe points or another way to test the battery? When I measure simple at the two contacts on the Battery board I get 5,8 V ...seems a little to low? Does anyone have voltages to test ?

Sorry you've damaged it somehow.

Starting in single user mode and pulling cord stays on. Only when exit single user mode shuts off

OK, so what does CoconutBattery say in Single User?

Hi, lately I installed an NVME M.2 ssd and after unplugging the battery board data cable I ripped of the head. After installing everything and plugging everything the MacBook don't start anymore with the battery and it doesn't show up on the sidebar. I ordered a new battery board data cable and plugged that won in with no results. Am I missing something ?? any setting ?? or manipulation ?? I did everything step by step. Please help !!

@agredach - Best to create a fresh question. This series uses a custom SSD it does not offer a M.2 interface for a M.2 SSD.
