Mid-range telefoon uitgebracht in september 2019.

Display not working, but touch does

After dropping my phone on the floor without a case, the screen (amoled) does not turn on and stays black. The only visible damage is a small dent on the metal frame in the lower left corner (from the front) and cracks on the glass screen protector.

I tested the power button and the touchscreen, both are in working condition. However, nothing displays on the phone’s screen even though something is supposed to be showing (I outputted the display to my computer).

I tried knocking and pressing the corners of the phone in case something is loose.

Is there anything I can do?

I'm having this same issue where my phone screen is black but touch is working. I'm trying to get access to the phone without replacing the screen.

You said that you were able to output the display to your PC. How were you able to do this without seeing the phone screen?

It's entirely possible that you knocked the ribbon cable for the screen loose... Unfortunately, without taking the phone apart, it's difficult to say for sure.

If you look at images for replacement screens, you can see that there is only one ribbon cable that leads to the screen (presumably for power/fingerprint scanner)

Hi,

I broke my my Redmi K20 pro display and have replaced it. (Not from Mi service center)

With the broken display, all was working except the display. i.e., phone would ring on calls, vibrate, notifications would ring, battery charging did sound. So, assuming that nothing else was damaged.

After display replacement, the screen doesn't get unlocked.

Phone boots properly and asks for pattern/fingerprint. Does not recognise fingerprint and on entering the correct pattern, the screen unlocks for a micro-second and then turns black and then the purple MIUI logo shows and the screen returns to locked state.

Phone performs all functions that can be done from locked screen.

Is the new display being not recognized by the phone OS?

Any assistance would be great.

One night i went to sleep and put the phone to charge, woke up to a dead screen. The touch seemed to work and the phone turn on and off ok, but no light. I assued the LED screen gave up the ghost and ordered a replacement one with the metal besel.

replaced it and it has been working for about a year now, no problem.

the issue that appeared right after replacing the screen, is that the front camera isn't ascending and descending any more so its unusable. But i don't care. I ordred a replacement motor and have yet to replace it and see how it goes.
